The Plot: Anna has fine life in America. An amazing best friend, a cute almost boyfriend, and and job she loves. Everything changes when Anna’s father sends her to a boarding school in Paris for her senior year. She thinks it will be horrible. One whole year away from everything she knows in a foreign country where she doesn’t even know the language! That all changes when she meets Etienne St. Clair, the perfect boy. Charismatic, funny, charming, smart, humorous, and… taken. Yup, of course, he has a girlfriend.

But, will the city of love have more in store for Anna?

My Thoughts: For Christmas, I got three books by Stephanie Perkins, Anna and the French Kiss, Lola and the Boy Next Door, and Isla and the Happily Ever After; I finished them all in three days! This one was probably my favorite of the three and I’ll tell you why:

Numero Uno: -Anna- I thought she was an all round solid protagonist. She was so amusing and comical and actually had A PERSONALITY. Even when she was angry, she still ended up saying something witty. I kind of just wanted to mess with her to see her reaction.

Numero Dos: -Etienne St. Clair- was a pretty dreamy and perfect man. Well, first he was British and I love England and British men. Even though I’m going pretty strong with Peeta Mellark from The Hunger Games, but now Peeta might have competition. Also, he was especially afraid of heights, which was really cute.

Numero Tres: -No moment of boredom- and I’m also going to include -A really good plot- I was in a big reading slump before starting the book (It was really depressing), and I was hoping that one of the books I got for Christmas would get me out of it. I was so glad when it did! I really enjoyed this book. It was fasted paced and kept me on the edge of my seat. Also, it had a very nice plot that was very original.

Numero Cuatro: -The setting- Paris!! I’ve only been to Paris once, on a day trip, when I was visiting London. I have to say I didn’t like it at first. It was hot, I mean, scorching hot, and there were too many people. Then when we walked away from the madness, it was really pleasant. I had really good croque monsieur. Well, really it was my mom’s, and I stole it. 😏 Thanks mom! The author was very good at creating a vivd picture of the setting.

Numero Cinco: -Beautiful Friendships- Those people stuck together through everything. I loved it.
